BOWMANVILLE, Ontario — September 8, 2026 — Tim Pernod, driver for Shopify Racing powered by TWOth, has capped a standout rookie campaign in the FEL Radical Cup Canada (RCC), finishing second in the 2026 championship and taking home the series’ Rising Star Award. The result was sealed this past weekend at the Labour Day Sprints at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP).
What sets the achievement apart is how it was earned. Pernod secured the runner-up spot in the standings after contesting just 80 percent of the season, having missed the opening weekend and its two races. Battling back from that early deficit to finish second overall — ahead of drivers who ran the full calendar — marked him as one of the most promising newcomers in Canadian sports car racing.
The series’ Rising Star Award, which recognizes the season’s standout newcomer, capped the campaign and underscored a rookie year defined by pace, consistency, and rapid development from round to round.
“To finish second in my first season — and to do it after missing the opener — is more than I could have hoped for,” said Tim Pernod. “I have to thank the entire team for giving me a car I could fight with every weekend. This award means a lot, but it also tells me what’s possible. I’m not here to be a rising star; I’m here to win.”

With the 2026 season complete, Pernod turns his attention to offseason development, with the intention of returning to challenge for top honours in the FEL Radical Cup Canada in 2027.
