Powering the Rookies

Calabogie, Ontario — August 19, 2026 — TWOth Autosport is making a habit of turning Radical newcomers into winners. Racing in 2026 under the newly branded Shopify Racing Powered by TWOth banner, both of the team's rookie drivers — Evan Cooley and Tim Pernod — climbed to the top step of the podium in their very first Radical Cup Canada starts. Coming off a standout 2025 championship campaign in the series, it is signs of a program built to develop serious drivers and deliver results, fast.

Two rookies, two debut wins

The Chicago native Evan Cooley opened the season in the best way imaginable, winning on his series debut at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. That the breakthrough came in May at CTMP — one of North America's fastest and most renowned circuits — was early proof that TWOth has the pace in its Radical XXRs to fight at the front on the series' quickest track. Tim Pernod, making his own debut later in the year at the team's home track of Calabogie, matched the feat — a victory and a double-podium weekend straight out of the box. For a team that built its reputation on developing drivers, putting two first-timers on the top step in their opening rounds is the clearest possible statement of intent.

Five straight podiums — and a title in reach

Since his CMP performance, Pernod has carried that debut form into a standout rookie campaign. TWOth's sole entry in the championship opened his year with five consecutive podiums, including two wins — a streak highlighted by victory in Round 7 at the inaugural Streets of Markham street race — all despite sitting out the season opener at CTMP for school commitments. He then backed it up with a hard-charging fourth in Round 8 at Markham, and heads into the finale provisionally third in the championship, within striking distance of the title if things fall his way.

[Note: official Round 8 (Markham) results and updated points standings are still being finalized.]

The season finale at CTMP

Now the series returns to the high-speed sweepers of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the Labour Day Sprints, September 4–6 — Rounds 9 and 10, the final two races of the 2026 season. It is a fitting stage for a title run: Pernod arrives in championship contention, at the same circuit where he missed the season opener, with two rounds to make up the ground.

“Tim missed the opener for school and has been steadily making up ground ever since — a win, a run of podiums, and now a genuine shot at the title,” said Trevor Hill, TWOth team principal. “Going back to CTMP with the championship on the line is exactly where we want to be, and we'll give him everything he needs to finish the job.”

Built to develop, built to deliver

Both breakthroughs headline the debut of Shopify Racing Powered by TWOth, the team's newly branded driver-development program — with the Radical Cup Canada campaign sitting at the heart of it. The banner underscores what TWOth has become known for: developing and delivering for serious drivers looking to make their mark in motorsport, from a driver's first competitive laps to the top step of the podium.

“When two rookies win on debut, then reeling off a podium streak like Tim, that's not luck — that's the program working,” said Travis Hill, TWOth team principal. “Tim and Evan are exactly the kind of serious drivers Shopify Racing Powered by TWOth is built for, and we're giving them everything they need to deliver.”

A development ladder from Calabogie to Le Mans

That is by design. The Radical program is the first rung of the Shopify Racing development ladder, a structured path TWOth has built for aspiring prototype racers. Drivers begin with local track days and testing with the team at Calabogie, progress to regional Radical competition to earn their racing licences, and step up to Radical Cup Canada — the national stage where Cooley and Pernod are now making their mark.

From there, the road leads into prototypes. Graduates move into LMP3 with the team's first-generation Ligier JS P315 in the HSR Prototype Challenge and on to the latest Ligier JS P325 in IMSA's VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, where Travis Hill is currently tied for the lead of the Bronze championship. Beyond LMP3, the ladder reaches LMP2 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the world's great endurance races, including the Rolex 24 At Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans — the same path TWOth developed for Tobi Lütke.

With both rookies already winners and Pernod carrying a live title shot into the CTMP finale over Labour Day weekend, TWOth Autosport heads into the closing rounds of 2026 with momentum on every front.
